Be Here for Downtown, NW Portland and Central Eastside
Come to the Holiday Tree Lighting and be here for our Downtown, NW Portland, and Central Eastside neighborhoods. Get $50 and ride, walk, explore, shop and dine in Downtown, NW Portland, and Central Eastside to help Portland’s small businesses recover.

The Here for Portland Initiative is excited to be promoting intentional shopping and dining by providing $50 Kuto App credits (while supplies last) to attendees of the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in Pioneer Courthouse Square at 6PM on Friday November 25th.
To promote intentional shopping and dining and support the recovery of the Downtown, NW Portland, and Central Eastside, we’ll be issuing 3,000 $50 stimulus credits, funded by the American Rescue Plan, which are spendable at local small businesses participating in Here for Downtown, NW Portland, and Central Eastside.

Who can receive $50 in Kuto App credits?
Anyone attending the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in Pioneer Courthouse Square on Friday November 25th, starting at 6PM can receive a Kuto App gift card credit while supplies last.
Where can Here for Downtown, NW Portland, and Central Eastside gift card credits be spent?
Credits disbursed through this program can be spent at participating small and local restaurant and retail businesses in and around Downtown, NW Portland, and Central Eastside neighborhoods. They can be used for making purchases as well as for tipping frontline workers.
Small restaurant and retail businesses have been hit the hardest over the past two years so that’s where we’re encouraging intentional shopping and dining. We’re also prioritizing outreach and inclusion to address the disproportionate impact to BIPOC-owned businesses, low-income entrepreneurs, food carts, and businesses impacted by break-ins and vandalism.

These businesses are the lifeblood of Portland’s appeal and have faced two years of revenue and customer losses while cooperating with the social distancing restrictions that have been protecting our community. It’s time for Portland to help them back!
Here for Portland is funded by the City of Portland’s American Rescue Plan Act program and is a collaboration of the Office of Mayor Ted Wheeler, Portland Action Tables, Worksystems, Prosper Portland, Office of Commissioner JoAnn Hardesty, Portland Bureau of Transportation, Go Lloyd, Central Eastside Industrial Council, Portland Business Alliance, Portland State University, Portland Community College, Bricks Need Mortar and Kuto App.
*Kuto App is a BIPOC-owned, Portland-based payments solution created to keep money within the community by reducing fees and facilitating safe, simple payments. As a community centered payments solution, Kuto partners with communities to address food insecurity, incentivize giving, and promote local spending.
