RIDE EVERY WEDNESDAY
Whether you’ve been coming into the office throughout the pandemic or you’re prepping for a new routine in person, don’t let getting stuck in traffic or the hassle of parking ruin your day. Consider alternatives to driving such as transit (bus/MAX/streetcar) or biking.
As part of Every Wednesday, the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is rewarding people who get to work by transit, bicycling, or walking.
Thanks to Rose Lanes, buses are now faster. Save money from driving for better things instead. You’ll get some time to read a book, listen to a podcast, or just zone out. Don’t have a bike? Don’t worry, BIKETOWN’s 100% electric-assist bikes will have you zipping into the office in no time and with no sweat. Take one out for a spin on the newly completed Better Naito bike path along the waterfront!

What is Every Wednesday?
Every Wednesday is a new tradition we hope you’ll embrace. Think of it as First Thursday’s funky cousin. Last Thursday’s hip little sister. It’s a series of perks and pop-up events to brighten up your midweek and make your time in town as fun and productive as possible. In other words, it’s a reason to leave the house and interact with actual human beings.

Why is Every Wednesday?
The aim of Every Wednesday is to increase traffic and engagement within the inner Portland neighborhoods that have struggled since the pandemic; to rally around our favorite shops, salons, coffee stops, and happy-hour hangs; and to remind everyone why they first fell in love with this weird and vibrant town.
Every Wednesday is not a cover-up or Band-Aid for the very real challenges facing our city. Revitalization requires structural change. But at the same time, we recognize change is only possible if people show up and spend time in affected neighborhoods.
