Here for Portland is offering exciting employment opportunities for students in Portland State University’s School of Social Work.

 

BSW Juniors: Paid Social Service Training Opportunity for Portland Residents:

Worksystems is seeking applicants to apply for short term paid behavioral health/social service training opportunities in the local Portland area. The funding is directly responding to the impacts of COVID 19 on the City of Portland and its most vulnerable residents. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

City of Portland resident
Able to work legally in the United States
18 years of age or older
Low income

If hired by Worksystems, you would work for 300 hours, up to 20 hours per week, earn $17 per hour ($19 per hour for positions with bilingual job duties), and receive a $1,000 bonus upon completion of the 300 hours. Worksites may hire students into regular employment positions if it’s a good match for the student and worksite. 

 

CYFS Majors: WorkSystems is seeking applicants for 2 types of positions.

1) Grant-funded Practicums: You may be able to fulfill one or both of your CYFS practicums through an opportunity with Worksystems.  They have grant funding to provide students with up to 300 hours of training and learning in Portland social service agencies. Applicants for this opportunity must be CYFS majors,  have attended a CYFS practicum orientation, coordinate with the CYFS practicum coordinator (mar24@pdx.edu) and apply and be accepted by Worksystems. Positions would start at the beginning of each term.

2) Short-term (300 hour) paid social service training opportunities in the Portland area. The funding is directly responding to the impacts of COVID 19 on the City of Portland and its most vulnerable residents. Applicants must meet the following criteria.
